About Mannam Memorial Club
Since then, the Club has received the special favour and patronage of the Maharaja of Travancore for the commendable work and service it has contributed in the early days.
The exact details of the Club’s functioning during the initial ten years were, unfortunately, lost irrecoverably. But we have evidence that between M.E. 1107 and M.E. 1112, the Club was presided by Honorable judges Justice V. Madhavan Pillai, Justice K.S. Govinda Pillai and renowned Engineers Shri. Kalluveetil Govinda Pillai and Shri. P. Thanu Pillai.
In the period between M.E. 1112 and M.E. 1121, Shri. T.K. Neelakantan Pillai (renowned Engineer), Dr.R. Kesavan Nair (renowned Doctor) and Shri. V.R. Pillai (noted economist) were at the helm of the club. Well-known personalities Shri. K.P.S. Menon and Shri K.P.G. Menon have obtained life membership of the Club.
The meeting held on 21st January 1951 decided to admit to the Club people who do not belong to the Nair community as ‘paying guests’. Later on 29th October 1960, a decision was taken to grant ‘Associate Membership” (ie membership without the right to vote) to non-Nairs.
In 1985, the name of the Club was changed to ‘Mannam Memorial National Club’ as it was felt necessary to name the Club after Bharatha Kesari Mannath Padmanabhan, the renowned and the undisputed leader of the Nair community. Now, the Club is in the path of rapid growth in terms of development within the Club and its members.

The Mannam Memorial National Club formerly known as “National Club” was established 138 years ago as early as in 1885. The Club has grown up as a cultural centre in the capital city of Kerala. There was a very good library run by the Club. There was a Tennis Court too. The members used to enact dramas under the leadership of the club. Shri C.V.Raman Pillai, Malloor Govinda Pillai, Barister G.P.Pillai, E.V.Krishna Pillai were the office bearers of the Club during that period.
At Mannam Memorial National Club, We aspire to be the premier club in the city that provides our members with exceptional services and facilities to help them achieve their physical, mental, and cultural potential.
